This cemetery opened in the 1930s. In the mid-1930s all of the interments from other cemeteries in Barstow were moved to Mountain View Memorial Park's Blocks 2, 3 and 4. In 1947 the Barstow Cemetery District was created to own, operate, and govern the cemetery and continues to operate it today. It is in very good repair and still accepting burials. There are approximately 12,000 interments in this cemetery.
